DVB CPCM Specification Launched
The publication in July 07 of the latest revision to DVB Bluebook A094 - Content Protection & Copy Management (DVB-CPCM) signals a second major milestone in the work of the DVB on a specification for persistent protection for commercial content in consumer digital products and home networks.

DVB Bluebook A094 Rev. 1 contains 9 of the 13 elements of the CPCM specification. The remaining four elements are mainly informative and will be published in Q4 2007.

The 9 elements published are:

Part [3] - CPCM Usage State Information - normative
Part [4] - CPCM System Specification - normative
Part [5] - CPCM Security Toolbox – normative
Part [6] - CPCM Security Test Vectors – informative
Part [7] - CPCM Authorised Domain Management – normative
Part [8] - CPCM Authorised Domain Management scenarios – informative
Part [9] - CPCM System Adaptation Layers - normative

The remaining 4 elements are:

Part [10] - CPCM Acquisition, Consumption and Export Mappings - normative
Part [11] - CPCM Content management scenarios – informative
Part [12] - CPCM Implementation Guidelines – informative
Part [13] - CPCM Compliance Framework – informative

Formal standardisation of the CPCM system will be initiated once all the elements of the specification have been completed.
